Burns Family Session…

Burns Family Session…

This is Greg and Annie Burns.  They have three absolutely gorgeous kiddos.  I am not sure how I have been so lucky to have so many red heads lately, but I am counting my blessings.  This family was so fun, and such a mixture of temperaments.  I loved how little Andie (the red head) was off in her own little world, day-dreaming about who knows what as she twirled her hair.  And Ellie was such a sweetie wanting to shine in front of the camera, after of course I gave her some smarties :)  She was such a cool little girl, she even had a feather in her hair.  Then there was little Brady, who had just turned one.  His blue eyes just shined and I could not believe how beautiful they were in these shots.

This was such a beautiful family and I am so glad I was able to photograph them.

ROAD TRIP!!!!

ROAD TRIP!!!!

So, I have this awesome plan to get away this weekend with my hunny!!  It was a total surprise but since he was trying surprise me with the same thing, I had to tell him. We are going to the Shepherd Mustangs football game against the J-Hawks, then heading up to Red Lodge for the weekend.  NO KIDS!!!

Sometimes in a marriage you just need to get away.  We have been married over 7 years now, and our lives get very busy and it seems we forget to take time for “us”.  Curt proposed to me up in Red Lodge, and I am excited to hike to that location and take some pics.  Well, Curt is ready to go and so am I… Have a great weekend, because I know I will :)

Isn’t he cute???

Adam ~Billings West Senior~

Adam ~Billings West Senior~

I met Adam a couple of weeks ago for his senior session and instantly liked this kid.  By the time this session was over, he knew exactly what I wanted every time I had him in a new spot and pose.  Smile, serious face, smile, little smile.  I did not even have to tell him at the end… it was great!  His mom and sister came along, and just sat up on a rock while we ventured off for the shoot.  The day was perfect, beautiful sunset and not too hot.  Adam likes baseball and told me he has been playing since T-ball.  I absolutely loved his baseball jersey from his team, because aside from the Cubbies, the Angels are my favorite team, and he had a Halos jersey!   Well, here is a peek into our session….

Here is Adam’s sister… how dang cute are they???

1970 International Scout…

1970 International Scout…

When I was 18 years old, a buddy of mine owned an International Scout.  It has been a dream of mine to own one ever since.  I happened to have a friend who owned one and was moving to Tennessee last year, and his wife was more than willing to sell it, rather than move it.  My husband, who is always wanting to give me everything I want, be it rational or not, told me to buy it.  So, December of last year, I bought my first Scout.  I had to buy a new battery, and put some money and time into the carburetor, but the girl ran like a champ.  She was obnoxiously loud, but I was in love :)

Choosing to become a full-time photographer, I have realized that having good equipment is a necessity.  Having a Scout, is not.  With that said, today I made one of the hardest decisions of my life…. the Scout had to go :(  I sold my prized possession so that I could buy yet another new camera.  So, here is a tribute to my “project”… I will miss you girl!

This was supposed to be Mikey and Curt’s project car…

Bye-bye Scout….

Baby Liam, take 2!!

Baby Liam, take 2!!

I finished editing this little guy today and just could not help but post a couple more!!!  I sure hope the baby next week is a boy :)   I was at an antique store with my mother-in-law and found some more fun props, that would be perfect for another little guy.  Not a very long blog tonight, so here are the pics..

Did I mention how much I LOVE red hair???  So presh!

Baby Liam

Baby Liam

Here is Megan’s new little guy, Liam.  He was such a sweet lil man, and the first boy in our studio!!!  For any of you out there that know me, red hair is a BIG deal to me. I absolutely love it.  Well, melt-my-heart-and-call-it-a-day, this boy had red hair!  He is the youngest of 4 and so very loved.  It did take us awhile to get him all settled down and sleepy, but when he did, look what we got….

It is so funny the way babies can sleep through just about anything.  Parents seem to think we are crazy when we turn on our blow dryer to soothe little babies to sleep, but it works like a charm, almost every time.  Here is another one….

and another….

Have I mentioned how much I love babies???  Yeah??  Hmmm, figured you would say that!  :)

My Cali Family… well, on Curt’s side!

My Cali Family… well, on Curt’s side!

I am very blessed to have such a loving and welcoming “in-law” family.  Curt’s mom and I hit it off even before I convinced him to move away from everyone and everything he knew in California to try and live his life here in Montana.  She is great and I love her to pieces.  She is actually here right now visiting us for the next 8 days.  I get so dang spoiled when she is here.  She cooks, helps me clean, and we almost always go shopping :)

Cheri, Curt’s sister is just awesome.  I got to have some one-on-one fun with her in Vegas during WPPI this past February, and just love hanging out with her all to myself!  She has to gorgeous kids, and when our two families are together, it is the best of times.

Curt’s grandma is still with us, and she turned 90 this year so of course we had to take some pictures.  We have four generations here and I must say they are a pretty good looking crew….

aren’t we just cute, all matchy-matchy??

and our kiddos are even cuter :)

Sure do miss you guys!

Super Fun Senior… Nick

Super Fun Senior… Nick

This is Nick.  I have known this kid since he was 8 years old.  I met his mom when we first moved here and we have been super close friends ever since.  It is so hard for me to believe that these kids are growing up so dang fast.  I guess they are not really kids anymore, are they?

One time I took Nick to the store to buy us each a yo-yo, because I kinda rock at yo-yo’s and it seemed the only one who cared was Nick :)  I am pretty sure he was jealous of my mad skills, too!  I also used to ride skateboards with him.  The fact that he is going to graduate next year is bitter sweet.  I will never forget the fun times I have had with him and his mom, and look forward to the many memories we will have in the future.

So first things first, we had to start the session off right!!!

Then we set out downtown to find some fun urban settings.  Got this great shot below!

Congrats, Nick… so proud of you!

Shepherd High School Cheer Squad…

Shepherd High School Cheer Squad…

Tonight was my squad’s first time performing in front of a crowd. We had  a community pep rally for our first football game tomorrow against Malta, and my girls did 2 cheers and 2 dances.  I am really proud of these 9 girls because only 2 of them have cheered for our high school squad before and 3 of them have never cheered.  We had tryouts last week, and they have learned 16 cheers and 2 dances. We have a few cheers that need to be fine tuned but all in all, these girls have nailed it!!!

Below is a picture of my squad…

The school song is played before every game so of course we had to learn it ASAP.  It is the same dance the girls have been doing ever since Kaitlin has been in high school, but we decided to add a little flavor to it.  We threw a stunt into the dance that involved a hitch.  That was just decided yesterday, by the way :)  I know I keep saying it, but I am really proud of my girls, and cannot wait to wow the crowds at our first game.

I love my flip!! I was able to record their dance and uploaded it to Facebook.  To see it, click the link below!

Such a sad day, Tracy will be gone…..

Such a sad day, Tracy will be gone…..

What ever will I do for the next 10 days?? Tracy is going to Sacramento, then to Vegas, then off to Colorado.  I have  been having the time of my life this summer with her, and I hate it when she leaves like this!  Last year during her birthday month, I was the first person to bring her “day 1″ presents… it consisted of a ton of chocolate candy bars… this year, I have failed her but was going to give her a million quad-trillion dollars if she was home on her actual birthday.  Lucky me, she will be in Sacramento on that day, so I will not be broke past the grave… pheeeew!!!

Tracy left me a super sweet letter before she left… it was full of encouragement, and I know I am just blessed to have such an amazing friend to help me learn the biz and hone my skills.

I will miss ya girl!!!
